Task management for freelancers

Most task applications are team software in which you are the only seat. You pay for permissions, assignments and activity feeds that nobody reads, because nobody else is there.

The problem with team software for one person

Todoist, Asana, ClickUp and the rest are built for teams. It shows in every corner: tasks are assigned, projects have members, there are comment threads, notifications and permissions. Working alone, you carry all of that without ever needing any of it.

Then there is the pricing logic. Team software charges per seat, and the first seat is rarely cheap. You pay a price calculated for an agency of twelve.

Aevo is built for one person. There are no assignments, no roles, no invitations. What there is instead is described below.

Keeping clients and private life apart

The practical core for freelancers is workspaces. Each one is a board of its own with its own projects, tasks and notes. A typical split:

When you switch, you see only what belongs to that space. This is not merely tidiness: anyone working with clients would rather not have another client's tasks on screen while sharing it.

The free plan includes one workspace, Pro allows several.

What the free plan covers

Free is not a trial and does not expire. It includes the board with tasks, notes and projects, the zoom view with subtasks nested to any depth, priorities and time estimates, recurring tasks and reminders, and the attention score. The limits are quantities: three projects, ten notes, one workspace, thirty days of completed history.

For one person with two or three things running, that is often enough permanently. Where it is not, Pro costs 5.00 euro a month or 50.00 euro a year, VAT included. That is a price calculated for one person.

What matters about Pro

Calendar sync. CalDAV and Microsoft 365. Your appointments sit next to your tasks, and the day planning works with the time that is actually left between them: realistic day planning.

The mailbox on the board. Client emails become tasks instead of sitting in the inbox as reminders: turn an email into a task.

Full history. When a client asks four months later when something was done, you can find it. On the free plan completed tasks reach back thirty days.

Unlimited projects and notes. Unavoidable from the fourth active engagement onwards.

Invoice, VAT, cancellation

Relevant for the bookkeeping: the sale runs through Paddle as Merchant of Record. You receive an electronic invoice with VAT shown separately, sent to the email address from the order. The rate depends on your country of residence and is shown during checkout.

There is no minimum term beyond the period you booked. You cancel through the button in the footer of every page, through the Paddle customer portal in the app, or by an informal email. The first payment of a subscription is refunded on request without giving reasons.

Where Aevo does not fit

Honestly: the moment you hire someone or work regularly with an assistant, you need assignments and a shared view. Those do not exist here and are not planned. Nor is there time tracking for billing, quotes or invoicing. Aevo plans your work; it does not bill it.

If your business consists of you, and will for the foreseeable future, that is exactly the point. See pricing or start for free.

Frequently asked questions

Is Aevo worth it for a single person?

That is what it is built for. There are no team features you pay for alongside, and the price is calculated for one person: free forever, or Pro at 5.00 euro a month including VAT.

Can I separate client work from private life?

Yes, through workspaces. Each is a board of its own; when you switch you see only that space. Free includes one workspace, Pro allows several.

Do I get an invoice with VAT shown?

Yes. Paddle issues it electronically and sends it to the email address from the order, with VAT shown separately.

Is there time tracking for billing?

No. Tasks carry a time estimate for day planning, but there is no stopwatch and no report for client invoices.

What happens if I cancel Pro?

The account continues on the free plan and nothing is deleted. Content above the free limits stays readable, additional workspaces become read-only and syncing pauses. Book again and everything is editable as before.
