The problem with two separate programs
A task without context is often useless. "Follow up on the quote" says nothing about what was discussed, which price is on the table and who wrote last. Those things live in a note, and the note lives somewhere else.
The usual fix is a link from the task into the notes app. That works until one side moves, gets renamed or the subscription ends. After that the link points nowhere, and nobody notices until they need it.
How Aevo handles it
In Aevo a task, a note, a project, a goal and a link are the same building block and live on the same board. A connection between them is not a URL but a relation inside one database. It cannot point nowhere.

- Open a note and you see which tasks it belongs to.

Notes with structure
Notes are written in Markdown. Headings, lists, checklists, images and callout boxes are available, and the editor has a toolbar so you do not have to memorise the syntax. Notes can be filed in folders independently of their project.
Subtasks instead of sprawling notes. A task made of twelve steps does not belong in a note. In Aevo it becomes a parent task with subtasks that can be sorted into named groups, and the tile carries a progress bar.
How this relates to the attention score
Because notes and tasks live together, the application never has to guess what matters right now. A note has no date and does not push. A task has one and grows louder the longer it sits. How that calculation works is under tasks you keep putting off.
