Connect calendars over CalDAV and Microsoft 365

Appointments and tasks on one surface. Aevo works out how much time is really left after the meetings.

Why the calendar belongs next to the task list

A task list without a calendar lies to you. It shows ten open items for today and says nothing about the four hours already taken by meetings. Plan that way and you push half of it to tomorrow every evening.

Aevo shows your appointments as a rail above the board and works out how much working time is actually left today. Your working window, minus the meetings, gives the free time. Tasks that fit into it are highlighted on the board.

CalDAV: iCloud, Nextcloud and others

CalDAV is the open standard for calendars. Nearly every provider outside the Microsoft world speaks it, including iCloud, Nextcloud, Mailbox.org and Posteo.

To connect one you need the server address, your user name and an app-specific password. Credentials are stored encrypted. Synchronisation runs at short intervals and is read-only: Aevo pulls appointments in and writes nothing back to your calendar. You can disconnect at any time, which deletes the credentials and the fetched events.

Microsoft 365

For Microsoft 365 there is no password field. You sign in through Microsoft's own page and grant Aevo access. Aevo receives a token, never a password. You can revoke access in the Aevo settings and additionally in your Microsoft account.

Work accounts: in managed Microsoft 365 tenants the grant may have to come from your IT administration. That is not a fault, it is Microsoft's normal consent control.

E-mails that become tasks

Alongside the calendar there is an IMAP inbox. You connect your mailbox, fetch recent messages and turn one of them into a task that then sits on the same board as everything else. Fetching happens when you ask for it, not continuously in the background.

What changes day to day

Calendar synchronisation, the inbox and daily capacity belong to the Pro plan. Amounts are on the pricing page. The free plan is unaffected and does not expire.

Common questions

Which calendars can I connect?

Any calendar that speaks CalDAV, such as iCloud or Nextcloud, plus Microsoft 365 through Microsoft's own sign-in.

Does Aevo write back into my calendar?

CalDAV synchronisation is read-only. Appointments appear in Aevo, but Aevo does not change your calendar.

Where are the credentials stored?

CalDAV credentials are stored encrypted. With Microsoft 365 Aevo receives no password at all, only an access token from Microsoft's sign-in, which you can revoke at any time.

Is calendar sync part of the free plan?

No. Calendar synchronisation and the e-mail inbox belong to Pro, which is 5.00 € per month or 50.00 € per year including VAT.
